The South's Got Now / Decidimos Comic Series

The South’s Got Now and Decidimos are the SPLC’s English and Spanish c3 electoral campaigns. The goals of the campaign are to engage and educate 18-29 year old Black and Brown individuals in SPLC's five Southern states. As part of this campaign, I was asked to help develop 3 comics that would run on SPLC social media channels that touch on a range of voter engagement and educational topics that were important to the 2024 election. I art directed 3 illustrators giving them free range to develop a script and art that spoke to what voting meant to them in a 6-10 panel comic. By doing this we were able to get comics with a personal narrative that connected more closely to our target audience. Once the artists completed their illustrations I also went in and animated various portions of the comics for additional visual interest on social.
